I received a call yesterday from my dear friend letting me know that that he has terminal, stage 4 lung cancer. The doctors are giving him 2 months to a year to live. He's a person that I talk to all the time. We've talked for hours about my business and all the wonderful things I can do to build it. He's been supportive and a great resource in helping me with the best intentions. Here I am talking about the silly struggles in my life for hours to him on the phone over a pot of coffee and he never once let me know about this. He's a new friend, not someone I've had my whole life but he's been a better friend in a short amount of time than most. We had been planning to celebrate his birthday in las vegas with me this week and he disappeared. A few days later he calls to tell me that there is something happening in his life that he needs to share. So he sends me an article about him. The article came out in a press release so I'm glad he let me know before I stumbled upon it. I just felt completely blown away and touched. What a selfless person to put everyones petty pathetic troubles before his. I read the most touching story of how they put a rush on his daughters wedding so that he could walk her down the isle. Monty Brinson has the most beautiful heart. I really believe that people come into your life for a reason and I feel completely blessed to have made such selfless, loving friend.

I'm really grateful that he did share this with me because my father is actually a lung cancer survivor. He was given 6 weeks to live many years ago however, my father didn't rely solely on doctors.
