Good Things on the Horizon!

I've been so busy with creating my latest venture, Shop Carley Glam. I've hired a logo designer and I'm now taking baby steps into becoming a business owner.  It's such an exciting feeling and something I feel is long overdue for me.  I've been thinking about this for a while and it's amazing to see my dreams come to life.

I've been glued to setting up my business.  I've been working on designs, meeting with jewelers and wholesalers, sending emails,  working on social media.  You couldn't imagine all the hard work that goes into starting a business.

I found time recently to have dinner with a friend at Mercado Di Vetro. I was feeling a little under the weather in the picture but I had no idea how sick I would become that evening.  Yikes.

I became so sick at the dinner table that I barely made it to my friends place where I slept for 48 hours before I was able to get up.  The next day I forced myself into a car to get to the dr.  Thank God🙏 I did because I came down with pneumonia!  How the hell did I get pneumonia!  The first couple days were a living hell.  I suffered from cold chills and fever.  I had lots of body aches and I couldn't lift my head.  I'm on my 6th day now and I'm able to sit up and watch television so I think that's a good sign💖so despite this minor set back I'm hoping to get back on my feet soon and be working on my business!

The Bold & The Beautiful

Last night I received a call from my beautiful agent, Melanie that the bold and the beautiful was requesting to see me for a role on the show!  I love the bold and the beautiful!  If I book this I've died and gone to heaven!  I'm absolutely perfect for this show!  I studied privately with acting coach, Sara Marnell last night. She helped to develop the character and shed some light on how it should be played.  Thanks to her I went in today and I gave a great audition!  It's exciting to be able to walk through the doors of CBS Studios so I took some pictures to share with you!

Dating Tips From A 21th Century Fox

Hi Loves,

Changing times and the rules of Dating in the 21st Century is something I've been thinking about a lot lately.  I see so many mixed reviews about what is right and acceptable in dating and what is not.  What to wear, how to style your hair, who pays the bill, is a goodnight kiss acceptable.   I find it a bit shocking that there is such an array of emotions on this subject.  People become quite heated when it comes to their emotions. Often,  when I'm talking with other women I see a "dear in the headlights" look when discussing men.  Other women seem a bit bitter and negative.  Then there are the women that go straight for the gold mine and presume that men will be men so if you can't beat em, join em.  This in mind I've decided to set the record straight for what I believe works the best in landing the man of your dreams and keeping him for good.

Now, I am not married.  I'm very single and enjoying every minute of it.  However, I have been blessed to have been engaged in the most beautiful relationships of the highest stature.  I've dated some very impressively succesful men I could write books about.  We are all friends to this day. All good things come to an end so I'm not sad or bitter at all.  I feel fortunate to have had these wonderful opportunities in my life.  And I believe that God is watching over me and when it is the right time it will happen again.  I've traveled to some of the most beautiful countries and have a closet filled with Cartier, Louis Vuitton and Gucci.   And while all those things are great, they mean absolutely nothing if you aren't crazy in love with your man.  I was one of the lucky women to have been very much in love and so I feel that it's ok to tell my story.  So here are my top 8 dating tips! Do them all!

1.  Invest in yourself.  Read my blog I am constantly driving this idea home.  There is a book called, If you want to walk on water you have to get out of the boat.  Ladies, Go to the gym, get your hair done, take some strip tease classes.   Whatever you have to do to gain confidence.  You should be taking vitamins and loving yourself.  Men are attracted to interesting women.  Women who are busy being fabulous. If your guy left you it's not the end of the world.  He will fall over in his easy chair when he logs on to facebook and see's the "new you." STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR WHY YOU CANT DO THESE THINGS.  MAKE CHANGES IN YOUR LIFE SO YOU CAN PUT YOURSELF FIRST.

2.  Ladies, the goal of dating is marriage.  I've sat at so many countless dinner tables listening to some slipshot talk about how many cars and boats he has just to get laid. Boring.  I wish these guys knew how they sounded.  Seriously guys, unless you're offering the ladies cars or boats, put a sock in it.  Women want to hear how beautiful they are.  Not what you have.  Ladies, don't fall for the trap. You're not looking for a show off.  You're looking for a "real" man.  Most of the guys I have dated are very quiet about their lifestyle.  Find a man that cherishes you.  Notice I didn't say like.  Love yourself enough to walk away from anything that makes you feel less than.  Look for qualities that you can live with for the rest of your life like how will he give my children a beautiful life and how will he change my life for the better.

cherish:

a : to hold dear : feel or show affection for <cherished her friends>
b : to keep or cultivate with care and affection : nurture<cherishes his marriage>
to entertain or harbor in the mind deeply and resolutely<still cherishes that memory>

3.  Be social and go out.  That is the best way to meet eligible bachelors.  I met most of my exes in nightclubs and they turned out to be very professional business types.  Lay out at the pools, have dinner with your girlfriends, go for ice cream.  Single men are everywhere!
4.  Have Confidence and be patient.  Remember, Rome wasnt built in a day...you will meet mister right when its your time to.  I'll never forget when my ex broke up with me in New York City.  I got back on a plain and cried the entire way to Los Angeles.  I was so sad.  I was bawling to my girl friend and said how am I going to move on.  She looked me in the eye and said, you know Carley, he loved you and treated you like a princess.  But he didn't invent that.  He was just pre-game for what your life is going to be like.  And you know the next guy I met 6 months later was crazy about me and was twice as fabulous.  Who knew that would happen.

5.  When is it ok to have sex?  You know I don't have a tight rule.  Times have changed.  My mother has been with my father for 42 years.  She told me the other day that relationships aren't working the way they used to.  If you feel passionate about a man and you are having an amazing time with him I would hate to be the one to tell you to not go all the way.  He can still pursue you after.  I believe it is a myth that having sex on the first night is a turn off.  Live, love, laugh and have fun.
6.  Do not chase any man.  Men love a good chase.  Even if you're crawling the walls to see him suck it up and stick to your guns.  My golden role is that the better the chase the better relationship.  Some women drive me nuts with this.  They call and nag and annoy the hell out of the guy and wonder why he isn't trying anymore.  Put up a sexy chase!
7.  Be your own Person.  Don't lose yourself in your man.  You want to be attractive and interesting and have your own endeavors you are pursuing.  Living vicariously through any man will bore them.
8.  Don't put up with Cheaters and Liars.  A few years back I was going through a breakup and I was heart broken.  I was bartending at the time and had to work this night.  So I came in with my tissues trying to hold back the tears.  A really wonderful woman was sitting at the bar like an angel watching over me.  She gave me the very best advice that night and I never forgot it.  She said, Carley you aren't dating you are "dated."  I loved that and it stuck with me.  If you think about Marilyn Monroe she strikes me as a woman that was "dated"  too.  So if your guy is cheating and lieing and you feel it in your heart as hard as it is you have to walk away.  Who knows, maybe he will change.  Believe that it's possible.   For the time being you have to do what's best for you.  Not him.  And move on.

Beautiful Hair Don't Care

Hi guys:)  so i've been asked to to do a blog on my hair care routine and I've been thinking about doing this for a while so for those of you who asked for this, here you go:)
Taking care of your hair so very important!  A few years back I was asked to model for a hair stylist.  She put coil hair extensions in my hair.  I had them in for about a year and then changed to weft permanent hair extensions because I heard they were better.  I kept those in for about 7 months.  At first my hair looked gorgeous.  It was long and blonde and beautiful.  After about a year I noticed that every time she did a fill on my hair extensions tons of my own natural hair was falling out.  So I decided to take out the hair extensions.  Within 2 years time I had lost so much of my natural hair that you could actually see the hair extensions because there wasn't enough of my natural hair covering them.  So I decided to get the clip ins.  I put the clip ins in every single day.  This ruined my hair even more.  As much as I love the way hair extensions look I highly advise all women to just get the clip ins and only wear them for a night out or for events.  They can damage your hair very badly and it has taken my hair over a year to begin to grow back.  Here is a photo of me when I first got my permanent hair extensions.

When I finally faced the fact that I was balding from the extensions I had to make the executive decision to take them out.  My hair was so badly damaged that ponytails looked stupid.  So I remember trying to puff up a bun and I put a crystal clip in my hair to cover up the thinned bald spots.  It was terrible.  My girlfriend Kristy Dicus is a hair dresser at a luxury hair care salon in West Hollywood called Frederic Fekkai.  She invited me in and offered to try and help me.  At the time I was using Volume style shampoos trying to give lift to my thinned hair.  Kristy was such a hair genius.  She gave me a trim to try to cover the unevenness and baldness.  I have no idea how she pulled it off to this day.  I don't know why I never thought of using a Keratin shampoo.  She did a deep conditioning treatment on my hair and told me to get off of the Volume style shampoos.  They were drying out my hair even more.  Oops!  So I left with this Keratin Shampoo and Conditioner.  She instructed me for the next few months to use this shampoo and conditioner loyally and I did.

What a life changer!  All of a sudden my hair was getting the nourishment it needed to grow strong and beautiful!  I highly recommend you to always use a Keratin based Shampoo and Conditioner to help build your hair.  It's ok to use a Volume Shampoo when you are going out to give your hair a lift but DON'T use it all the time!  I have so much going on all the time that I try to make Sunday my pampering and resting day for the week. I love to pamper myself with mani's, pedi's, massages, facials and hair treatments! I'm a big fan of the Moroccan Oil Treatments and the Kerastase however I stopped by Sally Beauty the other day and as I was checking out I asked the clerk about the Proclaim Argan Oil.  She said she uses it and loves it!  So for $6.00 I took it home to try out!  I've used it three times already and I am loving it.  It is a fraction of the price of the Moroccan Oil and seems to be helping my hair a lot!
After I wash my hair I spray it with a product called It's a 10 Miracle leave-in product.  I don't know what I would do without this product!  It makes my hair soft like butter.  Shampoo's come and go but It's a 10 is a staple item in the Corbin household!  I've even sprayed it on my Dog Mia:)

Before I get into the styling of my hair I want to add that taking a hair skin and nail pill is as important as taking a multi vitamin every single day if you want gorgeous, thick beautiful voluminous hair.  It doesn't just happen for most of us.  So don't listen to the BS.  It makes a huge difference that none of these products can hold a candle to.  There are different types of hair pills.  I've tried Natures Bounty and Megafood.  I like Megafood better.  There is a difference in Chinese herbs and Multi Vitamins.  I prefer Chinese Herbs.  I feel like I'm just doubling up on vitamins when I take Nature's Bounty.  So It doesn't impress me.  I have had the very best results with Dragon Herbs Hair and Nail Pills.  I see volume like Cindy Crawford style.  That impresses me.  Big Texas Hair!  Yeehaw!

I have fine thin hair so using a gel or mouse always helps with creating volume and hold.  I have been using Frederick Fekkai Extra Control Styling Gel.  If any of you reading my blog can recomend any products that you think are amazing please let me know what you like.  I love to try new things!

I blow dry my hair and when it's dry I apply a dallop of Moroccan Oil to the palm of my hand and rub it around and run through my hair.  This is a wonderful moisturizer and makes your hair look shiny and gorgeous!

When I'm done blow drying my hair I use hair clips to section my hair off
Next I put my hair in rollers.  Make sure if you're doing this your rollers look similar to this pic.  Up and over!
And spray my hair with Big Sexy Hair spray.  I haven't found a hairspray I like better so if you have one please again let me know!  I've tried cheap versions but I always revert back to my Big Sexy Hair!

This gives your hair tons of volume! A few months ago I heard about this stylist that is a guru to the blondes in Los Angeles.  His name is Victor Val Verde and he is the owner of Salon Sessions in Pasadena. The owner is known for styling the most beautiful blondes in Los Angeles.  I've been going to him for a few months now and the money is well spent. So I keep Victor Val Verde in my back pocket:)  The last time I was there he used the clip I showed to make pin curls without hair rollers.  My hair looked so fabulous that day!  I will try to repost a video of my hair that day.  It's being edited right now but here is a pic on my way to work that night!  Notice my Blondeness is out of control!  I was sick that day but I think my blonde craziness covered it!  hehe.

I work at a nightclub called Greystone Manor.  Here's a #selfie of me:)

Here are some photo's of me with actual hair clip ins in. Recently I did a photo shoot with the fabulous Damir K.
Here shown with my gorgeous model and girlfriend Cathrine Gontran.  I'm sporting a row of hair extensions.  So yes I wish I could wear them all the time, but it's uncomfortable and too hard on my hair.  So I only use them for photo shoots and hot dates:)

So all in all the bottom line is that you have to take care of yourself and invest in yourself and remember God didn't make you with hair extensions so try to find ways of being beautiful with what God gave you:)  Here are some pictures of me natural!

From the left is one of my closest friends, Liza. We've been friends since the 3rd grade.  She came to see me in Los Angeles and we went to see American Idol Grande Finale.  The only thing we were missing was my buddy Simon Cowell.  The show just isnt the same without him.  We had so much fun though.

Aside from all the things i have mentioned i highly suggest juicing.  i prefer vegetables to fruit.  i try to make it to whole foods a few days a week and order a large juice they make called "the works."  Ive noticed that my hair shines and layes better when i do this and my skin glows so "yes" to juicing.  it also gives me lots of renewed energy!

Ok it's 3 am and I've been blogging all night:)  I hope this blog helps!  I will be at Salon Sessions this week to get my blondeness man handeled by Victor Val Verde and I will post pics soon!  Byyyeeee!!
